Description
Bench-top AC-DC high-voltage power supply. Converts 90–230 VAC mains input to a clean, linearly-adjustable DC output up to 30 kV at 0.5 mA. Used as the primary HV source for bench thrust testing and dielectric breakdown work. 10-turn potentiometer for output adjustment, lockable to prevent accidental changes during a run; digital readout shows display × 100 V. Internal over-current and short-circuit protection plus an external HV switch and main power switch.

Operating instructions
1. Connect the AC 90–230 V input through the rear IEC inlet, fuse 250 V / 2 A. 2. Confirm the 10-turn potentiometer is at 0 before flipping the high-voltage switch. 3. Turn on the main power switch, then enable the HV switch. 4. Slowly rotate the potentiometer clockwise while watching the digital display. Output voltage = display reading × 100 V. 5. When the target voltage is reached, rotate the potentiometer lock clockwise to fix the setpoint. 6. The HV output is on a 1 m thick brown lead; the ground terminal is on the left panel.
Safety notes
The supply MUST be reliably earthed before energising. Never touch the HV lead unless the supply is switched off AND the load + internal capacitors have fully discharged. Wait at least 5 minutes after switching off before any contact. Do not operate in a humid environment. The operator must not be connected to ground. Despite internal protection, avoid short circuits at the HV output. Use a properly insulated discharge stick to bleed residual charge before any inspection. Maintain insulation between the HV output and the surrounding environment, especially in vacuum / low-pressure setups.
